ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Although not born into a gypsy family, the author was a Wild Child of the 60’s who enjoyed hitchhiking and sleeping rough in her teens. Married at 17 to the man who has been her life-partner, they travelled together the length and breadth of the British Isles before moving to the tipi valley in Wales in the late 70’s. The term ‘New Age Traveller’ was coined at a press conference in her tipi at Stonehenge in 1979. A year later, they were horse-drawn and spent the next 15 years raising their family along with a menagerie of animals on the Long Acres of Ireland.

They eventually found their Forever Home, a derelict cottage in a perfect location, literally at the End of the Road.  Teenage grandchildren still ride the piebald mares descended from the Travelling Days.
